R. David Baker, Austin CollegeTeaching, learning, and evaluation operate at the core of Earth system science education (ESSE). Both the application of systems thinking and the interdisciplinary nature of ESSE often require different ways of teaching than in traditional scientific disciplines. A student-centered, active learning environment promotes student learning and potentially encourages future careers in ESS.
